System Principle
The Integrated Sensing and Communication Metasurface-Assisted ISAC Application Experiment is composed of a host computer, the main experimental equipment (Integrated Sensing and Communication Metasurface iwcRIS35), and a software-defined radio (SDR) system. Auxiliary tools include test fixtures, standard horn antennas, tripods, shielding screens, cable assemblies, and installation tools, etc.
Experimental Procedure
The RIS provides one external SMA interface for outputting sensing signals, one DC interface for device power supply, and one network port for device communication. Two USRPs (Universal Software Radio Peripherals) need to be prepared, denoted as A and B. USRP-A has two ports connected to transmit and receive antennas, operating in Tx and Rx modes respectively; USRP-B has one port connected to the RIS, operating in receiver mode. Both USRPs are connected to an industrial computer via Ethernet. After the link setup is completed, the direction of incoming waves for sensing and the direction of reflected beams can be manually configured via software, or automatically tracked.
This application experiment allows students to deeply learn:
· Verification of Spatial Beamforming
· Verification of Adaptive Intelligent Sensing
· Verification of Wireless Communication Auxiliary System
